Playa Mamey · A satirical series from a tiny Caribbean town

A tiny Caribbean beach town where the kids see the truth, and the grown-ups never do.

Playa Mamey is a tiny town on the Caribbean coast: a malecón, an old lighthouse, pastel streets under palm trees and a pig farm by the mangroves. Every morning the yellow school bus, La Cotorra, carries four sixteen-year-olds to Liceo Costa Azul. Yeyo, Pachi, Wilson and Mayi see what is really going on. The adults never do. The mayor lives for her livestreams, the only cop says move along, the teacher talks through his parrot, and the whole town changes sides for a few likes. Every episode starts with a tiny problem and escalates into an absurd catastrophe that everyone treats as normal, then ends on a lesson that deflates on the spot. Satire of right now, shot like a film, with no gore and no real celebrities. And something lives in the sea: the Güije.
